Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with endometrial (uterine) cancer confirmed by a tissue sample taken within the past 90 days, and who are planned to have a keyhole (laparoscopic or robotic) surgery to remove the uterus and check nearby lymph nodes as part of their treatment
- People whose cancer appears to be at stage I (meaning it has not spread beyond the uterus), based on a physical examination done within the past 30 days
- People aged 18 or older
- People with a general health and activity level rated as 0, 1, or 2 on a standard medical scale (meaning able to carry out at least some daily activities — confirm with trial site)
- People who have had or currently have another type of cancer, as long as that cancer or its treatment is not expected to interfere with this study
- People who are able to give written consent to participate, and in the United States, also agree to allow their personal health information to be shared for research purposes
- People who speak English, Spanish, or Korean
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose surgeon does not think they are a suitable candidate for lymph node removal surgery in the pelvis due to other health conditions or surgical challenges (for example, severe obesity or previous abdominal surgeries)
- People who have previously had chemotherapy or immunotherapy to treat endometrial cancer (note: certain hormonal treatments such as megestrol, medroxyprogesterone, or a levonorgestrel-releasing IUD are acceptable)
- People who have had radiation therapy to the pelvis, groin, or legs, or have had surgery involving the pelvic or groin lymph nodes
- People who are planning to have another elective (non-urgent) surgery at the same time as their hysterectomy (for example, bladder support surgery or gallbladder removal)
- People who have any of the following serious health conditions:
- A history of swelling in the legs caused by a lymphatic system problem (lymphedema), identified by the patient or a doctor
- A history of ongoing unexplained swelling in the legs, identified by the patient or a doctor
- A blood clot in the deep veins of the legs or pelvis within the past 90 days
- A skin infection (cellulitis) in the legs within the past 90 days
