Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed through a uterine examination (hysteroscopy) with either atypical endometrial hyperplasia (abnormal cells in the uterine lining) or early-stage, low-grade uterine cancer that has not grown into the uterine wall — this includes people who are newly diagnosed, those whose condition persisted after 12 weeks of progesterone treatment, or those who did not fully respond after 24 weeks of progesterone treatment
- People whose scans (MRI, CT, or ultrasound) show no signs that the condition has spread outside the uterus
- People who wish to preserve their fertility or keep their uterus
- People who are willing and able to follow the treatment plan and attend follow-up appointments
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have an allergy or medical reason preventing them from taking MPA (a hormone medication) or atorvastatin (a cholesterol medication)
- People who are pregnant or may be pregnant
- People who have been diagnosed with any cancer in the reproductive system
- People who have already been diagnosed with high cholesterol and are currently taking cholesterol-lowering medication
- People with acute liver disease, a liver tumour (non-cancerous or cancerous), or reduced kidney function
- People who have had a stroke, heart attack, or a history of blood clots, or who have another serious acute illness of this kind
- People with other medical factors affecting reproductive function (confirm with trial site)
- People who strongly prefer to have their uterus removed or to pursue a different type of treatment
- People who smoke more than 15 cigarettes per day
- People who consume more than 20 grams of alcohol per day
