Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged 14 to 21 who have Sickle Cell Disease
- People who are willing to take part in a group therapy program called ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), offered jointly by two hospital departments

- People who are currently in prison or a youth detention centre
- People who are unable to understand or speak English
- People who do not have Sickle Cell Disease
- People who are considered to be at significant risk of suicide or self-harm, as the level of support they need would interfere with the study
- People whose families require frequent involvement from the Department of Children and Family Services
- People who are currently experiencing psychosis
- People with serious health concerns that would affect their ability to take part in or attend the study
