Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with uterine (endometrial) cancer of any type or grade, including a type called carcinosarcoma
- Your planned treatment includes surgery to remove the uterus and both ovaries and fallopian tubes (keeping the ovaries in certain cases does not prevent you from joining)
- You are 18 years old or older
- Before surgery, there is no sign that the cancer has spread outside the uterus to nearby tissues, lymph nodes, or other parts of the body
- You have read, understood, and signed a consent form agreeing to take part
Who may not be able to join:
- You have received or are planned to receive treatment (such as chemotherapy or radiation) before surgery to shrink the cancer
- You have had or currently have another invasive cancer within the last 5 years (common skin cancers are an exception)
- You wish to preserve your fertility
- Your general health and ability to carry out daily activities is significantly limited (confirm with trial site)
- Your cancer is a specific type called uterine sarcoma
- You have previously had pelvic or abdominal radiation, cancer hormone therapy within the last 5 years, chemotherapy within the last 5 years, lymph node removal in the pelvic or abdominal area, or surgery in the space behind the abdominal organs
- Your blood test results show that your bone marrow, liver, or kidneys are not functioning well enough (confirm with trial site for specific values)
- During surgery, the cancer is found to have spread to distant parts of the body
