Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are a Chinese woman aged between 18 and 65 years old
- You have been diagnosed with episodic migraine (fewer than 15 migraine attacks per month), with or without aura, based on recognised international headache guidelines
- Your migraines first started before you were 45 years old
- You experience between 2 and 6 migraine attacks per month
- At least one of your migraine symptoms includes nausea, vomiting, sensitivity to light, or sensitivity to sound
- Your migraine attacks typically last between 2 and 72 hours without pain medication, or at least 1 hour when you do take pain medication
- You are physically able to take part in Tai Chi exercise at the level required by the trial
- You currently live in Hong Kong
Who may not be able to join:
- Your migraines are so severe that they prevent you from doing moderate physical activity
- You have headaches caused by another condition, or you have another neurological (brain or nerve) disease
- You have more than 5 days per month of headaches that are not migraines
- You have already practised Tai Chi or other mind-body activities (such as yoga or biofeedback) since being diagnosed with migraines
- You are currently receiving, or have received in the past 12 weeks, any other alternative or complementary treatments
- You are pregnant, breastfeeding, or currently using contraceptives
- You have taken prescribed migraine prevention medication in the past 12 weeks
- You have misused drugs, taken antipsychotic or antidepressant medications, or taken painkillers for another ongoing pain condition more than 3 days per month in the past 12 weeks
- You have epilepsy or a diagnosed psychiatric condition
