Who might be able to join this trial:

• You are 18 years of age or older
• You are either male or female
• You have been diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), confirmed by a lab test
• Your cancer is at an advanced stage (Stage IIIB to IV, based on a standard medical staging system)
• Your cancer has come back at least 180 days after you received treatment that was intended to cure it
• Your cancer has been tested and found to have a specific gene change called an ALK rearrangement, using an approved test
• You are in reasonably good general health, as measured by a standard performance scale (confirm with trial site)
• You have already received two specific previous treatments: a targeted therapy called an anti-ALK inhibitor, and a platinum-based chemotherapy
• Your cancer can be measured on scans, following standard guidelines
• If you have brain tumours causing symptoms, you must have had surgery or radiotherapy for them at least two weeks before starting this trial
• If you have brain tumours not causing symptoms, you must not have had local treatment for them before joining the trial
• If you could become pregnant, you must have a negative pregnancy test within 72 hours before starting treatment
• If you are sexually active, you must use a highly reliable form of contraception (with less than 1% chance of failure per year)
• Your liver, kidneys, and blood counts must be working well enough (confirm with trial site)
• You are expected to live for at least 12 weeks
• You are willing and able to sign a consent form agreeing to take part

Who may not be able to join:

• You have cancer that has spread to the lining of the brain or spinal cord, confirmed by a specific test or strongly suspected on a brain scan
• You have had another type of cancer in the past, unless it was a very early-stage, non-invasive cancer (such as carcinoma in situ)
• You are currently receiving any other cancer treatment
• You have taken part in another clinical trial within the past four weeks
• You have a serious uncontrolled infection, a significant mental health condition, or any other condition that the trial doctor believes would make it unsafe or impractical for you to participate
• You have an active hepatitis virus infection, or a past hepatitis infection that could become active again
• You have an active HIV infection
• You are currently breastfeeding
