Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with epithelial ovarian cancer, fallopian tube cancer, or primary peritoneal carcinoma (any stage), OR advanced or spreading endometrial cancer (including carcinosarcoma), AND whose treatment plan includes the chemotherapy drugs carboplatin and taxane (or a similar combination)
- People who are scheduled to receive at least 6 rounds of chemotherapy before or after surgery
- People who are able to walk on their own without a cane, walker, or other walking aid
- People who are able to fill out forms, follow instructions, and read materials written in English or Spanish
- People who are willing to be randomly assigned to one of two groups in the study
- People whose cancer specialist has given approval for them to take part
- People who are 18 years of age or older
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have already finished their second round of chemotherapy
- People who, since their diagnosis, have already been eating more than 7 servings of fruit and vegetables per day, OR doing at least 150 minutes per week of moderate to vigorous exercise along with strength training twice a week
- People who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant
- People who have had a stroke, heart attack, or heart failure (or have a weakened heart pumping less than 40% of normal capacity) within the past year
- People who have dementia or a major psychiatric condition
- People currently receiving targeted therapy or biological therapy for any other cancer (hormone therapy is not included in this restriction)
- People currently receiving external beam radiation therapy
