Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been newly diagnosed with a specific type of nose and throat cancer (nasopharyngeal carcinoma, WHO type II or III) confirmed by a tissue biopsy, and your cancer tests positive for a protein called EGFR.
- You are between 18 and 70 years old.
- Your cancer is at an advanced but locally contained stage (stage III or IVa, based on standard cancer staging guidelines).
- A virus marker called EBV DNA was detectable in your blood before treatment and was still detectable after one round of initial (neoadjuvant) chemotherapy.
- You are generally able to carry out daily activities with little to no limitation (confirm with trial site).
- Your blood counts are within acceptable ranges — including red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets.
- Your liver is functioning well enough, based on standard blood tests.
- Your kidneys are functioning well enough, based on standard blood tests.
- You are willing and able to attend all required visits, follow the treatment plan, and complete all study requirements, and you are able to sign a consent form agreeing to participate.
Who may not be able to join:
- Your biopsy confirmed a different subtype of the same cancer (keratinizing squamous cell carcinoma, WHO type I).
- You have had another type of cancer in the past, unless it was a fully cured skin cancer (basal cell carcinoma) or a very early-stage cervical cancer.
- You have previously received radiotherapy, chemotherapy, or targeted cancer treatment.
- You are pregnant or currently breastfeeding.
- You have significantly reduced heart, liver, lung, kidney, or bone marrow function.
- You have a serious or uncontrolled medical condition or active infection.
- You are currently taking part in another clinical trial or taking another experimental medication.
- You are unwilling or unable to sign the consent form to join the trial.
- You have an emotional disturbance or mental health condition that may affect your ability to participate (confirm with trial site).
