Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged 18 to 75 years old, of any gender
- People who have been confirmed through a tissue sample (biopsy) to have squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck
- People whose cancer is locally advanced, meaning it has grown significantly into nearby tissue or spread to nearby lymph nodes, but has not spread to distant parts of the body
- People who are generally well enough to carry out daily activities with little or no restriction (this is measured by a standard health scale called ECOG, scored 0 or 1)
- People who have received induction chemotherapy combined with immunotherapy, followed by surgery as part of their treatment plan
- People whose life expectancy is at least 6 months
- People who have no medical reasons preventing them from receiving chemotherapy, immunotherapy, or radiotherapy
Who may not be able to join:
- People with a history of another cancer (except for early-stage non-melanoma skin cancer or a very early form of cervical cancer called carcinoma in situ)
- People who have previously received any systemic (whole-body) cancer treatment targeting the same cancer lesions, before the induction chemotherapy and immunotherapy phase
- People who have previously had radiation therapy to the head and neck area
- People who have taken high-dose steroid medications (such as more than 10 mg per day of prednisone or an equivalent) or other immune-suppressing drugs within the month before joining the trial (confirm with trial site regarding exceptions for low-dose or inhaled steroids)
- People who have fluid build-up around the lungs, heart, or abdomen requiring drainage, or who have had such fluid drained for treatment purposes within 2 weeks before joining
- People with serious existing health conditions, including heart attack history, irregular heartbeat, stroke or other blood vessel conditions affecting the brain, ulcer disease, mental illness, or diabetes that is not well controlled
