Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged 1 year or older
- People who have been diagnosed with differentiated thyroid cancer through a tissue biopsy, have had their thyroid surgically removed, and have received appropriate local treatment (such as removal of affected lymph nodes in the neck) for cancer that has spread
- People who have lung nodules (small spots on the lungs) visible on a chest CT scan taken within the past 90 days — either more than 10 solid, non-calcified nodules, or any number of growing nodules that are consistent with cancer that has spread
- People whose cancer has tested positive for a specific gene change called an NTRK gene fusion (NTRK1, NTRK2, or NTRK3), confirmed by an accredited laboratory, without a particular type of resistance mutation in the gene
- People with a general health and activity level at or above a set minimum threshold (confirm with trial site for exact score)
- People whose blood counts, kidney function, and liver function meet minimum levels set by the trial (confirm with trial site for exact values)
- People of reproductive potential who agree to use highly effective contraception throughout the study and for at least one month after the last dose of the study drug
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have not previously received any systemic (whole-body) treatment for thyroid cancer, including TRK inhibitor medications — note that prior radioactive iodine (RAI/131I) treatment is allowed
- People who are currently pregnant or breastfeeding, due to potential risks of the study drug and radioactive iodine to the baby
- People who are currently taking, or have taken within the past 14 days, certain medications that strongly affect how the body processes the study drug (known as strong CYP3A4 inducers or inhibitors) — confirm specific medications with the trial site
