Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged 70 years or older
- People with a performance status rated 0 to 3 on the OMS scale, meaning they are able to carry out at least some daily activities (confirm with trial site)
- People who have had a laboratory test confirming a type of skin cancer called invasive squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) or basal cell carcinoma (BCC)
- People whose cancer has at least one factor that raises the risk of it coming back, such as surgical margins that were clear but very close, the location or size of the tumour, cancer cells found near nerves, a cancer that has returned, a weakened immune system, or a tumour that was deep or not well-defined
- People for whom doctors have determined that radiation therapy to nearby lymph nodes is not needed
- People who have not previously had radiation therapy to the area being treated
- People who have provided written consent, or whose legal representative, trusted person, or family member has done so if the person is physically unable to sign
- People whose doctor estimates they have a life expectancy of at least 6 months
- People who have been assessed by a multidisciplinary medical team and found to have no medical reasons preventing surgery or radiation therapy
- People who are enrolled in a social security scheme (a form of health coverage — confirm with trial site if this applies outside France)
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose surgery left visible cancer tissue behind (known as R1 or incomplete resection)
- People with severe dementia that would make it impossible to attend follow-up appointments
- People facing psychological, family-related, social, geographical, or practical circumstances that would prevent them from attending treatment and follow-up visits
- People currently being treated for another active cancer
- People already taking part in another interventional clinical trial that could affect this study's results
- People receiving a specific type of state medical assistance known as AME (confirm with trial site if this applies in your situation)
- People whose freedom is restricted by a court or government decision
