Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with metastatic prostate, breast, ovarian, or kidney cancer confirmed by tissue testing and imaging scans, and who are starting their first cancer drug treatment
- People with metastatic prostate cancer who are starting their first course of docetaxel (a chemotherapy drug) or a second-generation anti-androgen (hormone-blocking) treatment
- People with metastatic breast cancer who are starting their first drug treatment, regardless of hormone receptor type
- People with kidney cancer who are starting their first cancer drug treatment, whether that is a targeted therapy, an immunotherapy, or a combination of both
- People with ovarian cancer at stage III or IV who are starting chemotherapy
- Adults aged 18 or older — women are eligible for the breast, ovarian, and kidney cancer groups; men are eligible for the prostate and kidney cancer groups
- Women who agree to use reliable contraception during the trial period
- People who have read and signed a written consent form agreeing to take part in the study
Who may not be able to join:
- People with a high risk of bone fractures
- People who are unable to do physical activity or who are considered unsuitable for cancer drug treatment
- People whose psychological condition makes it difficult for them to cooperate with the study requirements
- People currently taking cholesterol-lowering medications (such as statins) — note: some people already on statins may still be eligible under slightly different criteria (confirm with trial site)
- People with severe liver or kidney failure
- People who have had serious side effects from cholesterol-lowering medication in the past
- People who are continuously taking other medications that are known to interact with atorvastatin (a cholesterol drug used in this trial)
- People who fall into a protected group under EU Clinical Trials Regulation 536/2014, including women who are pregnant or breastfeeding
