Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder I or II according to standard diagnostic guidelines (DSM-5)
- People aged 18 to 65 years old
- People who have not had a major mood episode (such as a severe depressive or manic episode) for at least 3 months before joining, confirmed by specific mood rating scale scores
- People who still have some mild, lingering depressive symptoms, as measured by a standard mood rating scale
- People whose mood-stabilising medication dose has remained unchanged for at least 3 months before joining
- People who are able to provide written consent to participate
- People who are affiliated with a social security system
- Women of childbearing age who are using effective contraception
Who may not be able to join:
- People with a serious physical health condition that could be life-threatening
- People who have another major psychiatric diagnosis (other than an anxiety disorder) alongside their bipolar disorder
- People who are currently misusing substances other than tobacco or cannabis, as defined by DSM-5 criteria
- People who are unable to have an MRI scan, including those with panic disorder, claustrophobia, epilepsy, a pacemaker or nerve stimulator, metal fragments in the eye or brain, a cochlear implant, certain heart valves or metal surgical implants, or any non-removable magnetic metal in the body
- People with a physical health condition that is known to affect thinking, memory, or brain structure (for example, HIV, multiple sclerosis, lupus, Parkinson's disease, epilepsy, or dementia)
- People who are currently receiving structured psychological therapies such as CBT or IPSRT, or brain stimulation treatments such as ECT, TMS, or deep brain stimulation
- People who are currently participating in another clinical or therapeutic research trial
- People who are under legal protection or guardianship
- People who are prisoners
- People who are pregnant
- People who are breastfeeding
