Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People aged 18 years or older
  • People diagnosed with radioiodine-refractory differentiated thyroid cancer (a type of thyroid cancer that no longer responds to radioiodine treatment) who are currently being monitored (Cohort 1)
  • People newly diagnosed with medullary thyroid cancer that can be surgically removed, or people with medullary thyroid cancer that has spread and are being monitored, or people with advanced or spreading medullary thyroid cancer already under monitoring (Cohort 2)
  • People with radioiodine-refractory differentiated thyroid cancer or medullary thyroid cancer who are either starting or already receiving systemic (whole-body) drug treatment (Cohort 3)
  • People newly diagnosed with anaplastic thyroid cancer, which is a rare and fast-growing type of thyroid cancer (Cohort 4)
  • People who have a stored tumour tissue sample available from a previous biopsy, or who are willing to have a new biopsy taken if needed
  • People who are willing to follow standard monitoring and treatment as recommended by their medical team
  • People who are willing and able to give consent for biological samples (such as blood or tissue) to be collected for research

Who may not be able to join:

  • People who have another illness or condition that, in the treating doctor's opinion, would make it difficult to complete all the required sample collections
  • People who have been diagnosed with another invasive cancer within the past 5 years (exceptions may apply for certain skin cancers or very early-stage cancers — confirm with trial site)
  • People who are currently pregnant
