Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are scheduled to have an uncomplicated robotic-assisted keyhole surgery to remove part of a kidney for a kidney mass at the University of Miami Hospital or one of its network locations (Deerfield Beach, Plantation, Lennar/Coral Gables, or Kendall).
- People aged 18 to 99 years old.
- People who are able to understand and are willing to sign a written consent form agreeing to take part.
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have an allergy to NSAIDs (a common type of pain relief medication, such as ibuprofen).
- People who have had a heart attack or unstable chest pain within the last 12 months.
- People who have ever had coronary artery bypass graft (open-heart bypass) surgery.
- People with a history of or currently active stomach ulcers, gastrointestinal bleeding, or a hole in the stomach or bowel.
- People with a history of a bleeding disorder.
- People whose kidneys are not filtering blood well enough, based on a specific kidney function measurement (confirm with trial site).
- People who are currently taking blood-thinning or anti-clotting medications, such as warfarin, aspirin, clopidogrel, or rivaroxaban.
- People who have used opioid pain medications in the past 12 weeks or have a history of opioid use disorder.
- People who only have one kidney.
- People who are pregnant.
- People who are unable to give informed consent or cannot meet the study requirements for any reason.
