Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are seeking treatment for smell problems related to COVID-19, such as loss of smell, reduced smell, phantom smells, or distorted smells
- It has been at least 1 month since you tested positive for COVID-19 (either by a lab test or a home rapid test)
- Your sense of smell was normal before you got COVID-19
- You have not previously tried smell training or trigeminal nerve stimulation (a type of nerve treatment) (confirm with trial site)
- You are able to understand English and agree to take part in the study
Who may not be able to join:
- You have a history of a head injury, for example from sports, an accident, or a blast injury
- You have a condition affecting your nose or sinuses, such as a current cold, sinusitis, or nasal polyps
- You have a neurological condition, such as epilepsy, a degenerative brain disease, or narcolepsy
- You have a serious mental health condition, such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or another psychotic disorder
- You have had thoughts of suicide in the last month
- You are currently a heavy smoker, meaning you have smoked heavily (10 pack-years or more) within the last 6 months (confirm with trial site)
- You have used steroid medications by mouth or nose, or any other nasal sprays or drops, within the last month
- You are taking medications that affect your immune system
- You are pregnant or trying to become pregnant
