Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML) that has not responded to treatment or has come back, including: no remission after 2 rounds of initial treatment, relapse within 6 months of first remission, relapse that did not respond to further treatment, or multiple relapses
- People who have more than 5% leukaemia cells detected in their bone marrow at the time of joining the trial (confirmed by laboratory testing)
- People who have a suitable bone marrow donor available — this may be a fully matched brother or sister, a closely matched unrelated donor (9 or 10 out of 10 match), or a partially matched family member
- People who do not have an active infection at the time of joining
- People who have given written informed consent to participate
Who may not be able to join:
- People with abnormal liver function, where liver enzyme levels or bilirubin are more than twice the normal range
- People with abnormal kidney function, where a specific kidney marker (creatinine) is more than 1.5 times the normal range
- People with poor heart function, where the heart's pumping ability (ejection fraction) is measured at less than 45%
