Who might be able to join this trial:
- You must be 18 years of age or older
- You have been diagnosed with a type of head and neck cancer affecting areas such as the throat, voice box, or surrounding regions
- Your main treatment for this cancer was radiation therapy, with or without chemotherapy
- After that treatment, surgery to remove lymph nodes in the neck is now needed because cancer has come back or remained in those lymph nodes (but not in the soft tissue lining of the mouth or throat)
- During that neck surgery, additional tissue reconstruction is also needed to better protect a major blood vessel in the neck (the carotid artery) or to repair missing skin in that area
Who may not be able to join:
- You have cancer that has come back both in the neck lymph nodes AND in the soft tissue lining of the mouth or throat at the same time
