Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with invasive skin melanoma at a certain level of severity, meaning the tumour is either between 1.0–2.0 mm thick with signs of ulceration (skin breakdown), or more than 2.0 mm thick regardless of ulceration
- People who are suitable for surgery, specifically a procedure to remove the tumour with a clear margin and a procedure to check nearby lymph nodes
- People who are 18 to 80 years of age
- People who have signed a consent form agreeing to take part in the trial
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have previously had invasive melanoma at any time
- People who have experienced a blood clot event (such as a clot in a vein or artery) within the last 3 months
- People who are currently pregnant
- People who are currently breastfeeding
- People who have a known allergy or sensitivity to a medication called tranexamic acid (TXA)
- People who have a known diagnosis of epilepsy that has been treated, or who have had seizures in the past
- People whose kidneys are not working well enough, as measured by a specific kidney function test result (eGFR between 0 and 50) (confirm with trial site)
- People who are currently taking tranexamic acid
