Who might be able to join this trial:

People with Long COVID (Post-COVID condition):

• People being seen at the Respiratory Outpatient Clinic at Medical University Innsbruck, listed in the PRECISE registry or attending other participating clinics, or responding to local advertisements
• People who have had ongoing breathing difficulties for at least 3 months after a COVID-19 infection
• People whose lungs do not show signs of obstructive or restrictive lung disease, and who do not have weakness on one side of the diaphragm (the main breathing muscle)
• People whose doctor has identified breathing pattern problems, supported by a score above 23 on the Nijmegen questionnaire or a reduced measure of breathing muscle strength
• People aged 18 to 49 years
• People with sufficient knowledge of the German language to take part in Yoga sessions and complete questionnaires

People with COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease):

• People being seen at the Respiratory Outpatient Clinic at Medical University Innsbruck
• People who have received a COPD diagnosis confirmed by a specific breathing test result (confirm with trial site)
• People who have had ongoing breathing difficulties for at least 3 months
• People who do not have weakness on one side of the diaphragm
• People whose doctor has identified breathing pattern problems, supported by a score above 23 on the Nijmegen questionnaire or a reduced measure of breathing muscle strength
• People aged 18 to 49 years
• People with sufficient knowledge of the German language to take part in Yoga sessions and complete questionnaires

People with somatic symptom disorder (a condition where physical symptoms cause significant distress and are linked to psychological factors):

• People being seen at the University Hospital for Psychiatry I and II at Medical University Innsbruck, or responding to local advertisements
• People who screen positive for somatic symptom disorder based on specific questionnaire scores (confirm with trial site)
• People who have had ongoing breathing difficulties for at least 3 months
• People whose lungs do not show signs of obstructive or restrictive lung disease, and who do not have weakness on one side of the diaphragm
• People whose doctor has assessed that their breathing pattern problems do not match the specific pattern being studied in the other groups (confirm with trial site)
• People aged 18 to 49 years
• People with sufficient knowledge of the German language to take part in Yoga sessions and complete questionnaires

Healthy participants:

• People responding to local advertisements
• People without significant active physical or mental health conditions
• People without ongoing breathing difficulties
• People whose lungs do not show signs of obstructive or restrictive lung disease, and who do not have weakness on one side of the diaphragm
• People whose breathing pattern scores and breathing muscle strength fall within the normal range, as assessed by a doctor
• People aged 18 to 49 years
• People with sufficient knowledge of the German language to take part in Yoga sessions and complete questionnaires

Who may not be able to join:

• People who are unable to have an MRI scan, for example due to metal implants in the body (such as a pacemaker or surgical devices), severe anxiety, claustrophobia, or pregnancy
• People with active psychiatric conditions that could affect their ability to take part, such as psychosis or active suicidal thoughts
• People experiencing severe fatigue that would interfere with participation
• People who have previously been found to have a structural abnormality in the brain on an MRI scan
• People with a history of Long COVID (this applies to the COPD, somatic symptom disorder, and healthy participant groups)
• People with significant prior experience in meditation or Yoga
• People with a known narrowing of the carotid artery of more than 70%, or heart or lung conditions that make certain cardiovascular tests unsafe (confirm with trial site)
• People with COPD who depend on long-term oxygen therapy at home (this applies to the COPD group only)
