Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with stage IV non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), or with NSCLC that has come back and cannot be treated with a combination of definitive therapies.
- People whose lung cancer has a specific genetic change called an ALK rearrangement, confirmed by one of several types of laboratory tests (such as tissue testing or a blood-based DNA test).
- People who are currently being treated with one of these specific cancer medications — crizotinib, ceritinib, alectinib, brigatinib, or lorlatinib — and whose disease has been stable for at least 4 months on that treatment.
- People whose cancer does not have specific resistance changes in the ALK gene that the study vaccine is designed to target.
- People who are generally able to carry out daily activities with little to no limitation (based on a standard medical scale called ECOG 0–1).
- People aged 18 or older, of any sex.
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have another cancer that is currently growing or has needed active treatment within the past 3 years (some exceptions apply, such as certain skin cancers or cancers treated with curative intent — confirm with trial site).
- People who have received standard chemotherapy within 14 days before the first dose of the study vaccine, or who would need it at the same time as the vaccine.
- People who have received certain immune-based cancer treatments within 28 days before the first dose of the study vaccine, or who would need them at the same time.
- People who take steroid tablets or injections on an ongoing basis to suppress their immune system (steroid creams or inhalers are generally permitted).
- People with other medical conditions that significantly suppress the immune system.
- People who have cancer that has spread to the brain or spine and is causing symptoms, or where brain metastases required increasing steroid doses in the 7 days before joining the trial.
- People who currently have compression of the spinal cord, whether or not it is causing symptoms, detected on a scan.
