Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are between 18 and 65 years old
- People who have been diagnosed with Bipolar I Disorder (type 1) and are currently experiencing a depressive episode, according to standard psychiatric diagnostic guidelines
- People who have been on a stable dose of certain mood-related medications — specifically quetiapine, lurasidone, or a mood stabilizer — for at least 4 weeks before joining
- People whose depression symptoms score at a certain level of severity, and whose manic symptoms score at a low level, based on standard rating scales measured at the start of the trial
- People who agree to take part and sign a consent form
Who may not be able to join:
- People who currently misuse substances or have had a substance dependence problem in the past 6 months
- People with a history of epilepsy, significant head injury, stroke, or other serious medical or neurological conditions that could interfere with the study
- People who have been diagnosed with schizophrenia or another psychotic disorder
- People assessed as having a moderate to severe risk of suicide
- People with serious difficulties in thinking, memory, or cognitive functioning
- People whose routine blood or laboratory test results show clinically significant abnormalities
- People who are pregnant or breastfeeding
- People who would be unable to follow the study procedures as required
