Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are willing to take part, have signed a consent form, and are able to follow the study requirements
- You are between 18 and 70 years old, are generally in good physical condition (able to carry out daily activities), and are expected to live for more than 6 months
- You have been diagnosed through a tissue biopsy with locally advanced or spreading (metastatic) differentiated thyroid cancer, and scans have shown the cancer has grown within the last 18 months
- Your cancer either does not absorb radioactive iodine well, or you have received a high total dose of radioactive iodine treatment (600 mCi or more), or your cancer continued to grow after radioactive iodine treatment even when it was absorbing the iodine (confirm with trial site for which category applies to you)
- You have at least one area of cancer that can be measured on a scan
- Your blood counts and organ function (including blood cells, liver, and kidneys) meet certain minimum health levels based on recent blood tests taken within the past week or two
- If you can become pregnant, you agree to use contraception during the study and for 6 months after, have a negative pregnancy test before starting, and are not breastfeeding; if you are male, you also agree to use contraception during the study and for 6 months after
Who may not be able to join:
- You have been diagnosed with another cancer in the past 3 years (some exceptions may apply, such as certain fully cured skin cancers, early-stage cervical changes, or superficial bladder conditions — confirm with trial site)
- You have had major surgery, an open biopsy, or a serious injury within the past 28 days
- You have significant heart problems, such as a certain type of irregular heartbeat, reduced heart pumping ability, or a heart attack (confirm with trial site for specific levels)
- You have a serious active infection that is not under control
- Your kidneys are failing and you need dialysis
- You have another serious illness or condition that the doctors feel could make it unsafe for you to take part
- You have previously been treated with the study drug (anlotinib) or similar targeted cancer drugs such as vandetanib, cabozantinib, lenvatinib, sunitinib, or sorafenib
