Who might be able to join this trial:
Sequelae Group (people who were hospitalised with COVID-19):
- Adults aged 18 or older at the time of screening
- People who had COVID-19 confirmed by a PCR test and were hospitalised because of it
- People who do not have a pre-existing history of scarring or inflammation of the lungs (interstitial lung disease) or other significant lung disease
Control Recovery Group (people who had mild COVID-19):
- Adults aged 18 or older at the time of screening
- People who had COVID-19 confirmed by a PCR test but had no symptoms or only mild illness and did not need to be hospitalised
- People who do not have a pre-existing history of scarring or inflammation of the lungs or other significant lung disease, and who have no ongoing breathing or other body-wide symptoms
Who may not be able to join:
- People who are unable to give informed consent to participate
- People with a known pre-existing history of lung scarring, inflammation, or other chronic lung disease
- People who currently smoke cigarettes, vape, or inhale any other substances
- People whose immune system is suppressed due to taking medications such as methotrexate, CellCept, azathioprine, rituximab, cyclophosphamide, or similar biological medicines
- People with a smoking history of more than 20 pack-years (confirm with trial site for clarification on how this is calculated)
- People who have had chemotherapy or radiation treatment within the last two years
- People who are currently pregnant
