Who might be able to join this trial:
- You must be able to communicate clearly with the research team and be able to give your written consent to take part.
- You must be 18 years of age or older (either male or female).
Who may not be able to join:
- You have taken antibiotic tablets or capsules in the last four weeks.
- You have mouth problems or poor oral health, as assessed by an oral health questionnaire.
- You currently use an antibacterial mouthwash or one containing chlorhexidine and are not willing to stop using it during the trial.
- You are a tobacco smoker.
- You are pregnant or currently breastfeeding.
- You have had an allergic reaction to any ultrasound contrast agent (a substance used during ultrasound scans) (confirm with trial site).
- You are unable to do physical exercise.
- You are unable to communicate effectively in English with the study team.
- You have been diagnosed with chronic kidney failure with a GFR below 60 ml/min/1.73m (confirm with trial site).
- You are currently taking nitroglycerine or similar nitrate medications, certain medications for erectile dysfunction such as Cialis or Viagra, or medications such as Allopurinol (used for gout or kidney stones).
