Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with a type of brain tumour called diffuse glioma, confirmed through a tissue sample (biopsy).
- People who have imaging results showing radionecrosis (a type of tissue damage that can occur after radiation treatment to the brain) along with new or worsening neurological symptoms, such as weakness, speech changes, or seizures (Stratum A).
- People who have imaging results showing radionecrosis but without any new symptoms (Stratum B).
- People whose general physical functioning is rated at 50 or above on a standard medical scale called the Karnofsky Performance Scale, meaning they are able to care for most of their own needs (confirm with trial site for exact definition).
Who may not be able to join:
- People who do not have a confirmed tissue-based diagnosis of their brain tumour.
- People whose physical functioning is rated below 50 on the Karnofsky Performance Scale.
- People whose brain tumour is showing signs of growing or spreading (disease progression).
- People who have medical reasons that prevent them from taking steroid medications (corticosteroids).
- People who have confusion or cognitive difficulties that would make it impossible for them to understand and agree to take part in the study.
- People whose glioma is located in the brainstem.
- People whose imaging results are unclear and cannot reliably distinguish between radionecrosis and tumour progression.
- People who have previously been treated with a medication called bevacizumab, for any reason related to their glioma or radionecrosis.
