Who might be able to join this trial:
- A parent or legal guardian must have signed the electronic informed consent form on the child's behalf.
- The child must have been diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), confirmed by a genetic test showing a specific gene mutation, and must have SMA Type 1 or a certain genetic variation (up to 3 copies of a particular gene — confirm with trial site).
- The child must have already received, or be receiving on the day of enrollment, a specific SMA treatment called Onasemnogene Abeparvovec (brand name: Zolgensma®).
- Children who previously received other SMA medications (nusinersen or risdiplam) before Zolgensma® may still be eligible, as long as they are no longer taking those medications.
- The child and their parent or guardian must be willing and able to take part in regular phone check-ins throughout the study.
Who may not be able to join:
- Children who are currently enrolled in another clinical trial involving a treatment or intervention (with the exception of one specific trial called the OFELIA Phase IV trial) cannot join this study.
- If, during the study, a participant joins another clinical trial that involves a drug or medical treatment, they will need to leave this study.
