Who might be able to join this trial:

  • Be older than 5 years of age
  • Be younger than 18 years old at the time they received radiation therapy
  • Have received radiation treatment to the brain or spine for a brain tumor within the last 7 years
  • Be using an adequate form of birth control throughout the entire treatment period and for six months after, if applicable*
  • Have a negative pregnancy test at the start of the study and each month during it, if applicable*
  • Have given written consent (or have a parent/caregiver give consent) to take part in the study

Who may not be able to join:

  • Anyone with a known allergy or sensitivity to lithium or any of its ingredients
  • Anyone with significant kidney problems (based on a specific kidney function test result)
  • Anyone with heart failure or certain heart conditions, including a condition called Brugada syndrome, or a close family member with that condition
  • Anyone with an uncontrolled underactive thyroid
  • Anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Anyone with a serious imbalance of fluids or salts in their body
  • Anyone whose general health and ability to carry out daily activities falls below a certain level (confirm with trial site)
  • Anyone whose estimated chance of surviving 2 years is less than 25%, who is unlikely to follow the study schedule, who cannot swallow tablets, or who has significant language difficulties
  • Anyone already taking part in another clinical trial that would prevent them from joining this one
