Who might be able to join this trial:

For the child:

• The child is between 6 months and under 18 months old at the time of joining the study
• The child was born at 37 weeks of pregnancy or later, with no signs of malnutrition found at routine health visits
• The child's household showed signs of food insecurity based on a two-question screening tool used during a phone call
• The child receives their regular paediatric (child) healthcare at Stanford University/Stanford Health Care Network
• The child is expected to continue receiving regular paediatric care at Stanford University/Stanford Health Care
• The child lives at home (not in a hospital or care facility) with a caretaker who is also enrolled in this study

For the parent or legal guardian:

• The person is the main caretaker of a child who is eligible and expected to join the study
• The person is 18 years of age or older
• The person is able to answer questions in English and/or Spanish
• The person agrees for themselves and their child to be randomly assigned to a study group and to complete all parts of the study
• The person gives permission to be contacted by mobile phone, email, and/or home address
• The person gives permission for all study procedures to be carried out for themselves and their child
• The person is able to give informed consent on behalf of themselves and their child

Who may not be able to join:

For the child:

• The child was born before 37 weeks of pregnancy
• The child was smaller than expected for their gestational age at birth (birth weight below the 10th percentile for their stage of pregnancy)
• The child's weight is very low compared to their length (below the 3rd percentile)
• The child's body mass index (a measure of weight relative to height) is below the 5th percentile for their age and sex
• A child from the same household has previously taken part in this study or the Food FARMacia program
• The child has a condition that significantly affects their growth or movement (for example, serious heart conditions present from birth, or cystic fibrosis)
• The child requires a special diet due to a medical condition (for example, a metabolic disorder, or feeding through a tube)
• The child has a long-term illness that affects nutrition and growth, as determined by the study investigators

For the parent or legal guardian:

• The person is pregnant at the time of their first study visit, due to different nutritional needs during pregnancy
• The person is under 18 years of age at the time of their first study visit
• The person is unable to attend study visits or take part in the study activities
• The person is unwilling or unable to commit to a 6-month study for themselves or their child
• The person is unable to provide informed consent
• The person has a health condition or is receiving treatment that may interfere with taking part in or completing the study (for example, significant digestive conditions, major mental health conditions, or others as assessed by the study clinician)
