Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been clinically suspected of having, or diagnosed with, one or more tumours that have spread to the brain (brain metastases)
- People aged 18 years or older
- People with a known history of cancer
- People who have had a brain MRI scan within the past 2 months that showed signs of cancer spread to the brain
- People who are already scheduled to receive one of the following treatments: surgical removal of the brain lesion(s), a targeted type of radiation called stereotactic radiosurgery, or whole-brain radiation therapy
- People who are physically able to lie still on their back for the full duration of a PET/CT scan
- People who are willing and able to read and sign a written consent form agreeing to take part
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have had a brain biopsy of the lesion(s) being studied less than 4 weeks before the PET/CT scan (this waiting period helps avoid misleading scan results caused by inflammation)
- People who have already had surgery or radiation treatment on the specific brain lesion(s) being studied in this trial
- People who have received any treatment for the brain lesion(s) being studied, or started a new whole-body (systemic) cancer treatment, after their most recent MRI and before the PET/CT scan
- People whose only brain lesion(s) being studied are located within the treated area of a previous brain radiation treatment — however, if at least one lesion falls outside that previously treated area, participation may still be possible (confirm with trial site)
- People who are unable to lie still for the PET/CT scan
- People whose participation in the trial would cause a delay to their standard medical care
