Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are 18 years old or older.
- You have been diagnosed with a type of head and neck cancer (called HNSCC) confirmed by a lab test — but not nasopharyngeal carcinoma (a specific type of throat cancer).
- Your cancer has been newly diagnosed and has not spread to other parts of the body.
- A surgeon has determined that your cancer can be removed with surgery, and you are willing to have the surgery.
- You are generally able to carry out daily activities with no more than minor limitations (confirm with trial site).
- Your blood, liver, and kidney functions are within acceptable levels based on blood tests (confirm with trial site).
- You have signed a form showing you agree to take part in the trial.
Who may not be able to join:
- You have had another type of cancer, unless it was fully cured more than 5 years ago and has not come back (some exceptions may apply — confirm with trial site).
- You have an active autoimmune disease (where your immune system attacks your own body) that requires ongoing treatment, or you have a history of a severe autoimmune condition.
- You have a history of serious allergic reactions, especially to any ingredients in the study drug.
- You have previously been treated with certain cancer medicines, including specific immune checkpoint drugs or targeted therapies (confirm with trial site).
- You received a live vaccine within 4 weeks before starting the trial, or plan to during the study.
- You had major surgery or a serious injury within 4 weeks before starting the trial.
- You still have significant side effects from a previous cancer treatment that have not resolved.
- You have serious heart problems, such as significant heart failure, irregular heartbeat, or a heart pumping function below 50%.
- You have certain lung conditions, including lung inflammation, active tuberculosis, or a history of tuberculosis that was not successfully treated.
- You have an overactive thyroid or a structural thyroid disease.
- You have an active infection or unexplained fever around the time of starting the trial.
- You have active hepatitis B or C, a known positive HIV test, or AIDS.
- You have a diagnosed neurological or psychiatric condition.
- You have a history of drug or alcohol abuse.
- You are pregnant, breastfeeding, planning to become pregnant, or unwilling to use appropriate contraception during the study and for 3 months after it ends.
- You have taken part in another clinical trial or received an experimental drug within the past 4 weeks.
- The trial doctors have identified any other reason that makes you unsuitable for the trial (confirm with trial site).
