Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have a confirmed diagnosis of multiple sclerosis (MS)
- People whose level of physical disability is rated at 6.5 or below on a standard MS disability scale (called the EDSS)
- People who can walk 25 feet in between 6 and 45 seconds (based on an average of two attempts)
- People who can stand without support for at least 10 seconds
- People who score 23 or higher on a standard memory and thinking assessment (called the Montreal Cognitive Assessment)
- People who have not had an MS relapse (flare-up) in the past 3 months
- People who are not currently taking a medication called dalfampridine, or who have never taken it and stopped because of side effects
- People who are not currently receiving physical therapy
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have another neurological condition or a bone or joint problem that affects how they move or are physically active
- People who are unable to follow a 3-step spoken instruction given in English
- People who have been hospitalised for any reason in the past 3 months
- People who have high blood pressure or diabetes that is not well controlled
- People who have a history of seizures
- People who have reduced kidney function
- Women who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or trying to become pregnant
- People who cannot have an MRI scan — though the trial site may still allow participation in other parts of the study if all other criteria are met (confirm with trial site)
