Who might be able to join this trial:

• People who have been diagnosed with a solid tumor (a type of cancer that forms a lump or mass) that did not start in the brain or spinal cord, and where the cancer has spread to other parts of the body, confirmed by scans or tissue testing

• People where the affected area of the spine involves no more than 3 vertebrae (bones in the spine) that are next to each other
• People whose nervous system is working normally, or who have only minor weakness in their muscles (muscle strength rated 4 or 5 out of 5), whether or not they are taking steroid medication
• People who have been assessed by both a radiation oncology specialist and a spine surgeon or neurosurgeon
• People with a general health and activity level rated between 0 and 3 on a standard medical scale (where 0 means fully active and 3 means limited self-care ability) (confirm with trial site)

Who may not be able to join:

• People whose spine is considered unstable based on a specialist scoring system called the Spinal Instability Neoplastic Score (SINS), where a score above 12 indicates the spine may not be stable enough for this trial
• People who have already had surgery or radiation treatment directed at the specific area of the spine being studied in this trial
• People whose cancer type is known to respond well to standard radiation, such as small cell lung cancer, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, or germ-cell tumors
