You have been diagnosed with muscle-invasive bladder cancer and are planning to have surgery to remove the bladder (called a radical cystectomy), with a plan to redirect urine through either a bag on the outside of the body or a new internal pouch made from bowel.
You are 18 years of age or older.

Who may not be able to join:

You are currently taking antibiotics or other medicines to treat an active infection.
Your kidneys are not working well enough (specifically, your kidney filtration rate is below a certain level — confirm with trial site if unsure about your kidney function).

You have previously had radiation treatment to the pelvic area (the lower part of your abdomen/hip region).
