Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are over 18 years of age
- People who are willing to take part in the study and attend all required appointments and assessments
- People who have previously been treated for a brain tumor, have a new suspicious finding on a brain scan, and are being considered for a biopsy to investigate it
- People who are willing to have the required brain imaging done within 14 days before their planned procedure (and ideally within 3 days)
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose kidneys are not working well enough — specifically, those with a kidney filtration rate (a measure of kidney function) below 30 for MRI contrast dye, or below 45 for CT contrast dye. People with a kidney filtration rate between 30 and 45 may still be able to have a CT scan without contrast dye (confirm with trial site)
- People who have certain metal implants or electronic devices in their body that are not safe for MRI scanning — this includes things like pacemakers, defibrillators, cochlear implants, insulin pumps, nerve stimulators, metal fragments in the eye, certain surgical clips in the brain or body, and some heart valves, among others. However, people with certain devices that have manufacturer-approved MRI scanning guidelines may still be eligible to participate (confirm with trial site)
- People who are pregnant, or who have severe claustrophobia that does not respond to oral medication
- People who have a known allergy to iodine-based or gadolinium-based contrast dyes used in imaging. If only one type of dye is a problem, imaging using the other type may still be possible (confirm with trial site)
