Who might be able to join this trial:
- Males and females aged 8 and older who are suspected of having thyroid cancer
- People who have swollen or detectable lymph nodes or lumps in the neck that are not part of the thyroid, and who have been referred to Radiology or Endocrinology for a needle biopsy procedure
- People aged 18 and older who were previously diagnosed with thyroid cancer, had their thyroid removed, and have recently been found to have signs of cancer returning in the neck or thyroid area
Who may not be able to join:
- Children under the age of 8, as thyroid cancer is very rare in this age group
- People who have had a needle biopsy or surgical biopsy of their thyroid within the last two weeks (for those being assessed for thyroid nodules)
- People who have recently had a needle biopsy or surgical biopsy of lymph nodes or non-thyroid neck lumps (for those in that specific patient group)
