Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are able to understand the study and are willing to give their informed consent to participate.
- People aged between 18 and 80 years old, either male or female.
- People who are generally able to carry out everyday activities with no or minimal limitations, as measured by a standard oncology fitness scale (ECOG score of 0 or 1).
- People who have been confirmed by laboratory testing (tissue or cell sample) to have squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck that has not spread to other parts of the body.
- People whose cancer showed a major reduction (known as a major pathological response) after surgery combined with pre-surgery immunotherapy and chemotherapy treatment.
- People whose blood, liver, and kidney test results meet specific minimum thresholds, including adequate white blood cell counts, haemoglobin, platelet levels, liver enzyme levels, kidney function, and blood clotting levels (confirm with trial site for exact values).
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose head and neck squamous cell carcinoma has spread to other parts of the body or cannot be surgically removed.
- People who have an active autoimmune disease that requires ongoing medical treatment, or who have a history of a severe autoimmune disease.
- People who have active hepatitis B or C, a known positive HIV test result, or a diagnosis of AIDS.
- People who have a lung condition such as interstitial pneumonitis, non-infectious pneumonitis, or active tuberculosis of the lungs, or a history of lung tuberculosis that was not successfully treated.
- People who have an active infection that requires systemic medical treatment.
- People who have taken part in another clinical trial or received an experimental drug within the 4 weeks before the first dose of this trial, or who are currently enrolled in another clinical trial.
- People whom the trial investigators consider unsuitable for the study for any other reason.
