Who might be able to join this trial:
For people joining the prospective (forward-looking) group:
- A certified genetic testing laboratory has confirmed a harmful or likely harmful change in the LAMP2 gene
- The patient, or their parent or legal guardian, is able and willing to sign a consent form
- The person is aged 8 years or older at the time of joining the trial
- For females only: there is evidence of thickening of the heart's left pumping chamber, recorded within the 12 months before or at the time of joining
For people joining the retrospective (records-based) group:
- A certified genetic testing laboratory has confirmed a harmful or likely harmful change in the LAMP2 gene
- The patient, or their parent or legal guardian, is able and willing to sign a consent form as required by local rules
- The person is aged 8 years or older at the time of joining the trial
- The person has previously had a heart transplant or previously had a mechanical device used to help their heart pump
- At least 30 days of past medical records are available from before the heart transplant or mechanical heart support
- For females only: there is past evidence of thickening of the heart's left pumping chamber
Who may not be able to join:
- People who are currently enrolled in another clinical trial that uses an experimental treatment for any condition, where that involvement could affect the results of this study
- People who have previously received a gene therapy treatment
- For the prospective group only: people who have already had a mechanical heart-assist device implanted at the time of joining
- For the prospective group only: people who have already had a heart transplant at the time of joining
- For females only: people who are older than 51 years of age at the time of joining
