Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adults aged 18 and over (both men and women)
- People who have given their signed consent to take part
- People who are able to complete the examinations required by the trial protocol
- People who have been recommended by a neurologist to receive a specific stem cell treatment (AHSCT), or who are being treated with the most similar available disease-modifying therapy (for the comparison group)
Who may not be able to join:
- People with a history of bladder cancer
- People who have previously had radiation therapy to the pelvic area
- People who have blood in their urine, whether visible or detected only under a microscope
- People who have had bladder reconstruction surgery or have had their bladder surgically removed
- People who have received botulinum toxin (Botox) injections into the bladder wall within the last 12 months
- People whose bladder or urinary tract medications have been changed or adjusted in the last 3 months
- People whose bladder or urinary symptoms have not been stable for at least the past 3 months
- People who use a permanent urinary catheter
- People who have had 3 or more urinary tract infections with symptoms in the past 12 months
- People whose urine screening has confirmed the presence of bacteria
- People who have an active urinary tract inflammation at the time of joining the trial
- People who have painful bladder syndrome
- People who have had a sacral neuromodulation procedure (a device implanted to help control bladder function)
- People with severe pelvic organ prolapse (where pelvic organs have dropped out of their normal position)
- People who have had major surgery in the pelvic area
- People whose life expectancy is estimated to be less than 5 years at the time of joining the trial
- Women who are breastfeeding, pregnant, trying to become pregnant, or sexually active without using an accepted form of contraception (such as hormonal contraceptives, injectable contraception, hormonal implants, sexual abstinence, or a partner who has had a vasectomy)
- People who have taken part in another clinical trial within the past 90 days
