Who might be able to join this trial:
For clinic staff:
- People aged 18 or older who work at or are in training at the clinic
For patients:
- People aged 18 or older
- People who speak English
- People who are already a patient at the clinic where recruitment is taking place
- People who experience pain on more than half of the days over the past 3 months
- People whose pain is at least moderately severe and affects their daily life, based on a standard pain questionnaire score of 4 or above (confirm with trial site)
- People who score at least 31 on a standard PTSD symptom checklist AND have experienced a recognised traumatic event — though this requirement may be adjusted during the trial if recruitment is difficult (confirm with trial site)
Who may not be able to join:
There are no exclusion criteria for clinic staff.
For patients:
- People who are currently receiving treatment for chronic pain and/or PTSD at their clinic
- People who have had thoughts of suicide in the two weeks before their screening appointment
- People with severe thinking or memory difficulties that would prevent them from taking part
