Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged 18 to 65 who are generally healthy (Group 1)
- People aged 18 to 65 who have been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and have a disability score of 6.0 or lower on a standard MS scale called the EDSS (Group 2)
- All participants must sign an informed consent form agreeing to take part
Who may not be able to join:
- People with any neurological condition other than common headache disorders
- People who do not have sufficient language skills in German or French
- People who are pregnant or breastfeeding
- People who have any reason they cannot have an MRI scan, such as having active implants, certain metal implants or objects in the body, large tattoos in areas scanned by the MRI equipment, claustrophobia (fear of enclosed spaces), or concerns about being able to follow the MRI safety rules
- People who have smoked at any point in the last 10 years
- People who use any drugs, including cannabis used for medical reasons (moderate alcohol intake of less than one standard drink per day — roughly 10 grams of alcohol — is the only exception)
- People who have had a previous head injury that caused or may have caused damage inside the skull
- People with a Body Mass Index (BMI) over 30
- People with any other long-term, progressively worsening illness
- Group 1 only: People whose calculated biological age differs significantly from their actual age based on a specific measurement tool used by the trial (confirm with trial site)
- Group 2 only: People with an EDSS score above 6.0, or people who have had an MS relapse (a flare-up of symptoms) within the last 6 months
