Who might be able to join this trial:

• You are between 18 and 65 years old
• You have been diagnosed with migraine (with or without aura) that is not classified as "chronic migraine" by your doctor
• You have had migraines for at least one year
• You have had between 4 and 13 migraine days per month during an initial tracking period
• You completed at least 26 out of 28 days of a headache diary during the tracking period
• If you take any medications, your dose has been stable for at least 2 months before joining the study
• You are willing and able to take part in all parts of the study and be randomly placed into one of two groups
• You speak and understand English fluently
• You have reliable access to and can use a smartphone, computer, or tablet
• You have a working email address or are willing to create one for the study

Who may not be able to join:

• You are not a Veteran (for the VA Medical Center site only)
• You received Botox injections for headache or neck pain in the past 4 months
• You received chiropractic care for any reason in the past 3 months
• You have had behavioral therapy (such as cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, relaxation techniques, or hypnosis) in the past 3 months
• You have used a headache device or nerve-stimulating device for migraine prevention in the past 2 months, or took part in a study using experimental treatments in the past 90 days
• You have been diagnosed with "medication overuse headache" by the study doctor at your screening visit
• You had a traumatic brain injury within the past year, or your migraines have been getting worse (confirm with trial site)
• You had a head or neck injury in the past year that caused nerve or muscle problems requiring treatment
• You have any medical, neurological, or mental health condition that the study doctor believes could make it hard to safely participate (confirm with trial site)
• You have been hospitalized for a psychiatric/mental health reason in the past 6 months
• You are currently receiving hospice or palliative care
• You have a history of a tear in one of the major arteries in your neck (carotid or vertebral artery dissection)
• A doctor has detected an abnormal sound in your neck arteries (carotid bruits)
• You have certain spine or bone conditions that would make spinal manipulation or mobilization unsafe, including but not limited to:
  • Unstable or overly flexible spine joints
  • Conditions causing general joint looseness, such as Marfan syndrome, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, or Osteogenesis imperfecta
  • Cancer of the spine or spinal cord
  • A slipped disc with worsening nerve symptoms
  • Blood pooling near the spine
  • Inflammatory spine conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis
  • Broken bones or dislocations in the spine
  • Bone tissue death in an area that might be treated
  • Bone-weakening conditions of the spine, such as tumors, infection, or osteoporosis
  • Poor blood flow to the back of the brain (vertebrobasilar insufficiency)
  • An aneurysm (bulging blood vessel) near an area that might be treated
• You have a history of stroke
• You take blood-thinning medication or have a blood disorder that causes significant bleeding
• You have had previous neck spine surgery, or you have a birth defect affecting the stability or nerve function of your cervical (neck) spine
• You currently have, or have been treated for, an alcohol or substance use disorder in the past 6 months
• You have been on hormone replacement therapy for less than 6 months, or your dose has not been stable (confirm with trial site)
• You have significant memory or thinking difficulties that would affect your ability to participate
• You are currently pregnant or plan to become pregnant within the next 6 months
