Who might be able to join this trial:
- The child must be between 4 years old and 5 years, 11 months old
- The parent taking part must be the child's legal guardian and live with the child full-time
- The parent must be 18 years old or older (there is no upper age limit for parents)
- Only one child and one parent from each family can take part

Who may not be able to join:
- Children who are outside the age range of 4 years to 5 years, 11 months old
- Parents who are not the child's legal guardian or do not live with the child full-time
- Children who have been diagnosed with a disruptive behavior disorder (such as conduct disorder or oppositional defiant disorder)
- Children who are currently receiving mental health services or taking medication for emotional or behavioral problems
- Children who have a medical condition (such as epilepsy) that could get in the way of completing the study
- Children who are actively thinking about harming themselves, or who have a history of or currently experience psychosis
- Parents who have a serious mental illness, are actively thinking about harming themselves, or currently have a problem with alcohol or substance use that would get in the way of taking part
- Parents who have a medical condition or an intellectual disability that would make it difficult to complete the study
- Parents who are not willing to be randomly assigned to either receive the parenting program or to a group that does not receive the program
