Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are a woman between 18 and 45 years old
- You currently have periods
- You have given written agreement to take part in the study
- You have previously used a menstrual cup for period protection
- You live or work in the Paris metropolitan area (Île-de-France), France
If you have endometriosis, you also need to meet these criteria:
- Your endometriosis has been confirmed through surgery or a scan (ultrasound and/or MRI)
- You experience one or more painful symptoms rated above 3 out of 10, such as painful periods, pain during sex, or ongoing pelvic pain, and/or you have experienced difficulty getting pregnant
- If you are in the surgery group: you have endometriosis-related surgery planned within the next 3 months
If you do not have endometriosis, you also need to meet these criteria:
- Your period pain, pain during sex, and pelvic pain are all rated 3 out of 10 or below
- You did not have severe period pain as a teenager that led to taking the pill to manage it or caused you to miss school
Who may not be able to join:
- You have an autoimmune disease
- You have a long-term condition other than endometriosis, such as diabetes or high blood pressure
- You are currently subject to a legal protection order (confirm with trial site)
- You have HIV or hepatitis B (if known)
- You have previously had toxic shock syndrome related to period products
- You have had endometriosis surgery within the last 3 months (applies to endometriosis group only)
