Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are 18 years of age or older
- People who have a condition called progressive pulmonary fibrosis (PPF), which is a lung disease where scar tissue in the lungs continues to worsen over time
- People whose lung disease has not been given a specific classification (referred to as unclassified ILD)
- People who have had a high-resolution CT (HRCT) chest scan within the last 3 months
- People whose lungs are working at 50% or more of the expected capacity for someone of their age and size (measured by a breathing test called FVC)
- People whose lungs are transferring oxygen into the blood at 35% or more of the expected level (measured by a breathing test called DLCO)
- People who have had a heart ultrasound (echocardiogram) within the last 12 months
- People whose estimated blood pressure in the lung arteries is 40 mmHg or below (as measured by the heart ultrasound)
- People with a body mass index (BMI) of 35 or below
Who may not be able to join:
- People with a very low platelet count (below 50,000×10⁹/L), as platelets are the cells that help blood clot — the trial site would need to confirm this based on blood test results
- People whose blood takes significantly longer than normal to clot, as measured by a specific blood test result (INR above 1.5) — the trial site would need to confirm this based on blood test results
