Who might be able to join this trial:

• Adults aged 18 or older.
• People with moderate-to-severe chronic kidney disease, specifically a kidney function level (eGFR) between 15 and 44 mL/min/1.73 m².

• People with a systolic (top number) blood pressure above 130 mmHg, or who are already taking one or more blood pressure-lowering medications.

Who may not be able to join:

• People whose ACE inhibitor or ARB dose was reduced in the past year because their kidney function dropped significantly (by more than 25%).
• People who had a dangerously high potassium level (above 6.0 mmol/L) in the past year.
• People who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
• People with a life expectancy of less than 12 months.
• People currently taking lithium, potassium-sparing water tablets (diuretics), potassium supplements, trimethoprim (an antibiotic), or anti-inflammatory pain medications (NSAIDs such as ibuprofen).
• People who have received a kidney transplant, or who have been diagnosed with a genetic kidney condition called autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease, or certain other types of non-glomerular kidney disease (confirm with trial site).
