Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are 18 years of age or older
- You have been diagnosed with a cancer in the upper urinary tract (the lining of the kidney or ureter), confirmed by a tissue sample (biopsy)
- Your surgeon has planned for you to have surgery to remove the affected kidney and ureter (called a nephroureterectomy)
- Your cancer has not spread beyond a certain stage, and you have had full staging scans (CT or MRI) of your chest, abdomen, and pelvis before surgery
- You do not have invasive bladder cancer at the same time as your upper urinary tract cancer
- You are able to understand the study information and are willing to sign a consent form
Who may not be able to join:
- Your lymph nodes appear enlarged in a way that suggests the cancer may have spread to them
- Your cancer has spread to other parts of the body (distant metastases)
- You also have invasive bladder cancer at the same time
- You are in poor general health or have another life-threatening illness
- You have a psychiatric condition that makes it difficult to understand or agree to take part in the study
- You are pregnant
