Who might be able to join this trial:
- Women between 18 and 52 years old
- Women who have regular periods with a cycle that lasts between 28 and 35 days
- Women who have not had sexual intercourse in the week before the procedure
- Women who have not used any antibiotics or probiotics (by any method, including pills or creams) in the 6 months before the procedure
- Women who have never had a pelvic infection, whether short-term or long-term
- Women who fully understand what the study involves and are willing to sign a consent form
Who may not be able to join:
- Women who are currently pregnant
- Women where, during the procedure, signs of cancer or borderline disease are found (confirm with trial site)
- Women who have serious structural abnormalities of the pelvis
- Women who experience significant internal bleeding in the pelvic area during the procedure
- Women who have previously had gene therapy, a blood transfusion, stem cell therapy, or a bone marrow transplant
- Women who have a psychiatric condition, personality disorder, or a history of misusing mind-altering substances
- Women who have a weakened immune system, serious allergies, or an autoimmune disease
- Women for whom general anesthesia through a breathing tube would not be safe
- Women for whom the types of surgery involved in this trial (keyhole abdominal surgery or internal camera examination of the womb) would not be safe or suitable
