Who might be able to join this trial:
For Part A (initial study):
- You are 40 years of age or older
- You are experiencing unusual uterine bleeding that has no known cause (not related to a coil/IUD or similar device)
- You still have your uterus
- You have been referred by a doctor to have a tissue sample taken from the lining of your womb (endometrial biopsy)
For Part B (follow-up monitoring):
- You took part in Part A, were selected for further testing, and still have your uterus
Who may not be able to join:
For Part A:
- You have had a womb lining sample taken, pelvic radiation treatment, or a vaginal infection (such as bacterial vaginosis or a yeast infection) in the past 3 months
- You have started hormone therapy, birth control pills, or had a coil/IUD fitted in the past year (unless you are taking tamoxifen)
- You have had sexual intercourse, used any vaginal products, or douched in the past 48 hours
For Part B:
- All of the same reasons listed for Part A apply
- You have been diagnosed with endometrial cancer or a pre-cancerous condition of the womb lining, or your doctor has recommended a hysterectomy (surgical removal of the womb)
