Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who identify as Deaf or hard-of-hearing
- People who are proficient in American Sign Language (ASL)
- People who are 18 years of age or older

- People who are currently taking part in formal psychotherapy (talk therapy or structured psychological treatment) outside of this study — participants already in the study who begin outside formal psychotherapy during the study period would also be removed at that point
- People who are not able to give their own informed consent to participate
- People under the age of 18
- People who are currently in prison or a correctional facility
- People who are pregnant (note: pregnancy status will not be formally tested, but the trial is not designed to include pregnant participants)
Note: Regular attendance at groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, or Dual Recovery Anonymous is not an exclusion — in fact, attendance at these groups is encouraged for all participants.
